At Gorse Hill School, we use the Get Set 4 PE scheme to support us in confidently delivering the National Curriculum and supporting children in the early years to achieve the Early Learning Goals. Through this comprehensive programme, pupils are introduced to a wide range of sports and physical activities, from swimming and gymnastics to Outdoor Adventurous Activities (OAA).

At Gorse Hill School, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to discover a passion, develop a talent, or try a new sport. To support this, we offer a variety of extra-curricular clubs that provide children with opportunities to extend their skills and interests beyond the curriculum.

We also value the importance of healthy competition and teamwork. As a result, pupils regularly have the opportunity to represent the school in a range of inter-school sporting events and competitions, helping them to develop confidence, resilience, and sportsmanship.

We are proud to provide swimming lessons for every child from Reception through to Year 6, ensuring that all pupils have the opportunity to develop this essential life skill.

Children benefit from high-quality PE lessons delivered by their experienced and well-trained class teachers, as well as specialist coaching from a qualified PE coach. This combination ensures that all pupils receive engaging, inclusive, and effective physical education throughout their time at Gorse Hill School.
