Gorse Hill is proud to announce that we have earned the IQM Inclusive school award for having impeccable inclusive practices at our school.
The IQM Inclusivity award is a certification which is awarded to schools who provide equal opportunities for all their pupils regardless of their ethnicity, gender or learning abilities. To earn this award a school has to pass an evaluation and prove that they implement an educational framework which empowers every child. Gorse Hill has proven that we provide the best education to all pupils from all backgrounds.
The key elements of the report state that our school has implemented a fantastic system which supports all of our students equally and that our CARE values can be seen throughout our school. They also highlighted the amazing work our staff do to support our SEN pupils.
We are gifted to have such a diverse set of children attending Gorse Hill and we wouldn’t have achieved this fantastic award without them. The report even states that the children “spoke with pride about the school and their achievements”.
We would like to send a massive congratulations to our fantastic staff team who work hard to ensure inclusivity is present throughout every aspect of school life. Their hard work was reflected in our report when the IQM stated “Without exception, all staff share this inclusive and caring vision and work closely together with senior leaders and, increasingly, with families and the community to realise this ambition.”
When asked about his thoughts on achieving the IQM inclusivity award our Principal Luke Graham had this to say:
“I feel exceptionally proud that our school has achieved the Inclusion Quality Mark. The assessment was professionally rigorous and I am delighted that it has recognised the continued improvements that we are making at Gorse Hill School, building on our recent ‘Good’ Ofsted judgement.“
“This accreditation is testament to our pupils, our community, colleagues within The White Horse Federation and our dedicated staff team, and I would like to thank them for all that they do to ensure that our school has the inclusive culture that it does.”
We are extremely proud of our achievement and would like to invite parents to read the full report. The IQM report can be found here: IQM Report
