What an amazing first whole week back to school. Our week kicked off with a Super Starter for our current Big Question – Are We Nearly There Yet? All the children from Year 1 to Y6 came to the Junior Hall – or the ‘Departure Lounge’ to find out which country they would be visiting. Each child had been issued with a passport in which they collected a sticker to show where they’d been. In each group there was a mixture of children of all age groups which was a wonderful opportunity for the older children in school to support the younger ones.
Groups took part in a range of activities from designing a kilt to making a Chinese dragon, to learning The Haka to cooking and all sorts of other interesting activities in between. The children thoroughly enjoyed travelling to and learning about the different destinations they had visited and were pleased to feedback to others in a Whole-School Assembly at the end of the day.
Thank you to those of you who were able to take part in the Parent Drop-In session on Thursday morning. We’re sure you were impressed with how quickly the children have settled back into a learning routine and the subject content that they are learning about. There will be more opportunities for parents to come into school on different occasions throughout the school year, so please don’t worry if you couldn’t make this one.
On Thursday afternoon, our sporting events began in earnest with a White Horse Federation Football Competition for our year 5 / 6 children. Our teams worked really hard and secured an overall position of 4th – well done.
Enjoy your weekend!
