School years are not just a time for classroom learning, but also for identifying passions and hobbies. Here at Gorse Hill Primary School and Nursery, we conduct a wide range of after-school clubs, all of which are aimed at giving our students the best school experience possible. These clubs allow them to follow their passions and develop individual skills and talents.
By taking part in these clubs, our students are able to develop an array of transferable skills, including confidence, imagination, teamwork, coordination, focus, creativity, and determination. Honing these attributes at an early age sets our students up for success not only at school, but also in their adult life.
Soccer Excellence R-2 Club
Soccer Excellence run our after school clubs for football twice a week so every year from YR to Y6 are able to join. Every week they focus on a different aspect of football. They cover passing and receiving, dribbling, shooting/finishing, attacking, defending.
- The course is open to boys and girls
- The cost of the course is £21 for 7 weeks
- Please make sure your child has suitable clothing and they must wear shin pads with football socks for their own safety
- Football boots are advisable but trainers may be worn
This art club involves "Big Art Projects" as well as some small individual pieces. Across the term we use a range of materials. Some large group "Art Attacks" are created - but the most important thing is that the club is fun! This club is open to pupils from Year 1- 3.
Why Join a Club?
Young people’s skills start to grow and evolve from an early age, and their time at school plays a significant role in shaping their attributes and personality. By taking part in our after-school clubs, students enhance their social skills and enjoy spending time with other children outside of the classroom. They also develop a range of other attributes, depending on which club they attend.
