In year One, we have been reading the story of Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers.
We started off the week by learning how to retell the story ourselves using actions. We then created our own storyboards by sequencing pictures from the story and writing our own sentences to match the pictures.
We have been busy in maths, learning our fact families for the number 6. We have explored using cherry models, Numicon and this week we introduced using make it, draw it, say it and write it boards to solve simple subtraction problems.
We ended our week by creating our New Year calendars using artwork inspired by our story of Lost and Found. It was quite tricky trying to cut all of the different shapes that we needed but we did a fantastic job at persevering and we are extremely proud of the final results.
