The end of Term 2 already!
Sherwood Forest Class have had a fun last week of term listening to and learning the Fairy Tale story of The Gingerbread Man. The story has inspired the children in many of this week's activities. In one activity the children used their modelling skills to mould cinnamon smelling, sour dough into fantastic Gingerbread Men. Stickle bricks were also used to create some amazing Gingerbread Characters!
Cold Winter Scenes
During our topic this term we have been learning that some animals such as camels and lions prefer to live in hot climates and some animals such as penguins and seals prefer to live in cold climates. The children included penguins, seals, polar bear and of course snowmen in their wonderful, wintery scene pictures.
The soggy weather didn't dampen the children's spirits and during their last week of Forest School they used twigs and string to create some wonderful decorations for the Christmas tree.
Donkey Plodding Song
The children enjoyed learning and singing the 'Donkey Plodding' song, we have shared an audio version of their singing with Gorse Hill Baptist Church. They will be including the song in their Community Carol Service on the 20th December at 4.30pm. (www.facebook.com/GorseHIllBaptistChurch )
Finally, Miss Ricketts and I would like to thank all the children in Sherwood Forest Class for their effort and hard work. We hope you enjoy the holidays, and we look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.
