Sherwood Forest Class have been very busy this term.
Earlier in the term we watched a video clip of the two astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landing their rocket on the moon. This inspired us to do some fun astronaut training, one of these activities was to wear oversized gloves and pick up a number of pom-poms using tweezers. We developed our creative skills with junk modelling and created rockets of our own by sticking a variety of different materials together. We have also used different shapes to create 'name rockets.'
We have had lots of fun using actions and story words to retell the fantastic story, Whatever Next! We created wonderful masks of Baby Bear and The Owl, who are characters from the story.
During Forest Schools we have been exploring the outside area collecting leaves, twigs and investigating mini beasts and their habitats. We also made a few mini beasts of our own!
This week we are learning the song 'Donkey Plodding' which we will be recording and sending to the Baptist Church for them to use in their Christmas Community Carol Service.
Next week the theme of our activities will be based on the Gingerbread Man story and we will be learning to celebrate our differences and share Christmas and family traditions.
