Reception: Camelot Class Update Term 2 Week 5

In Camelot Class, we have been continuing our topic of Space.

We have been using our story language to retell the story that we are focussing on: Whatever Next! We will be using this to develop our story telling and creating our own story maps.
We have also spent some time learning about rockets, how they work and what they look like. We have made predictions on how rockets move and have held an experiment to explore how rockets move, using inflated balloons. We also have been exploring ways to join materials together to build our own rockets out of junk modelling materials. In our topic lessons we have also been exploring hot and cold places and what we need to wear to protect ourselves during hot and cold weather. We have begun to explore different animals that live in hot and cold places, such as penguins, seals, orcas, camels, scorpions, and ostriches.
Soon we will be moving onto creating Baby Bear and Owl masks for our story Whatever Next. We will also be learning more about shapes and using them to create rockets and other pictures. Finally, we will also be learning about Christmas and family traditions.
