Paddington Station - Class Update - Term 1

Paddington Station have settled really well into life in Year 1 and have already started a load of fun learning activities.

In the gallery below you can find photos of our learning environment as well as some of the fantastic learning we've been doing.

Firstly, here are some of our exciting learning environments. In Year 1 we enjoy choosing our own learning in the different areas of our classroom.

In Year 1, we have been learning all about colour mixing with on a focus on the artist 'Wassily Kandinsky'. We have mixed our own colours to create our final pieces, inspired by Wassily's famous painting 'Squares'.

For writing, we have enjoyed reading our focus text this term, Mr Chicken. We have been improving our handwriting by using cursive letters. The children made VIP cards for Mr Chicken and retold the story using their story wheels.

In topic, we have been learning about London. We have been using blocks to make landmarks like Tower Bridge and drawing and labeling landmarks like The Shard.

Finally, the children have been having a fantastic time at Forest School each Tuesday morning. We have enjoyed exploring the changes in our environment, using natural resources to create pictures and looking closely at the living things in our outside area.

We look forward to keeping you up to date on all the happenings in Paddington Station.
