Mr McGregor's Garden have been quickly getting up to speed with Year 1 and producing some brilliant learning.
In the gallery below you can find photos of our learning environment as well as some of the fantastic learning we've been doing.
Firstly, here are some photos of our fun and exciting learning environments. We enjoy choosing our own learning in the different areas of our classroom.
This term in Maths, we have been representing numbers up to 30 in different ways. We have enjoyed playing different games using Numicon, tens frames and dienes.
In Year 1, we have been learning all about colour mixing with on a focus on the artist 'Wassily Kandinsky'. We have mixed our own colours to create our final pieces, inspired by Wassily's famous painting 'Squares'.
In Writing, we have enjoyed reading our focus text for this term, Mr Chicken. We have been improving our handwriting by using cursive letters.
In topic, we have been learning about London. Because the Queen is such an important person, we decided to create our own 'Buckingham Palace' using the different resources in our construction area.
Finally, we have thoroughly enjoyed dusting off our wellies and getting stuck back in with Forest School. We have enjoyed exploring the changes in our environment, using natural resources to create pictures and looking closely at the living things in our outside area.
We look forward to keeping you up to date with the goings on in Mr McGregor's Garden.
