Class Update - Y1 Paddington Station

Class Update - Y1 Paddington Station

As we come towards the end of term, we have been as busy as ever in Year 1. We have loved reading our class story 'Meerkat Mail' by Emily Gravett and learning all about the habitats where meerkats live. The children wrote some lovely postcards from Sunny the meerkat, to tell his family all about his adventures.

In maths this week we are learning to measure mass. The children enjoyed using the weighing scales to compare the mass of objects around the classroom using the words heavier and lighter. The children were great at predicting which object would be heavier!

This week in our science, we carried out an enquiry to find out "Do people with bigger feet need bigger gloves." The children had lots of fun measuring their hands and feet and we worked scientifically to gather and record data from the class.
