We would like to say a huge thank you and well done to the whole school for all of their fund raising efforts over the past couple of weeks. Every class has been busy collecting pennies for penny wars and on Thursday we held a non-school uniform day we are very proud to announce that both events raised £513.17.
On Thursday we also cheered along the TWHF cycle challenge team. The team were taking part in a sponsored bike ride, riding to all of the TWHF schools in Swindon, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire. During their brief stop, they talked to the children about how the money that they have been raising will be used to help the Shamrock school in Nepal. (Have a look on the school website to see some Twitter pictures of the cyclists arriving).
Not to miss out on the cycling challenge, staff and pupils spent the whole day taking it in turns to ride two exercise bikes, well done to all of the staff and children, Reception children also had their own trike ride in the playground.
On Monday, children in Years 1 to 6 had a PSHE performance. During this performance the children were encouraged to think about and value themselves and to consider what they are good at.
Years 4 and 5 have also taken part in their own performance on a visit to work with some students from an acting college. After watching part of a performance, based on a modern day version of King Midas, they then became part of the performance; both the children and staff had a wonderful time.
Also this week we have been saying ‘cheese’ for our class photos, reading with our buddy readers in other year groups and the final group of nursery children visited butterfly world.
And finally, Senior SYM Concert would like to invite you to book your FREE tickets to the Wyvern Theatre performance on Tuesday 18th July 2017.
