We’ve had an enjoyable week with many sporting activities outside in the glorious sunshine.
On Monday students from Swindon College visited Gorse Hill to run a PE session for Year 3 the children thoroughly enjoyed working with the young adults practising their PE skills.
On Tuesday our Year 5’s went to Swindon Academy to participate in a ‘Try it Sports Festival’ – the children showed exemplary behaviour and enjoyed their day out. Some off our Year 2’s went to an Athletics Festival at the County Ground where they participated in a range of team activities.
We enjoyed a nice sunny afternoon on Wednesday which was exactly what we needed for our KS2 Sports day – Congratulations to House Emerald who were the overall winners. Thank you to all the parents that were able to attend and cheered the children along.
On Wednesday we had a Fair Trade assembly. The children learnt about the organisation and Year 6 and 3 carried out some follow up work with our visitor.
On Thursday ‘Bikeability’ training started for some Year 6 pupils. The pupils are developing their understanding of road safety when they’re out and about on bikes.
On Friday some of the Nursery children had their first school trip to Butterfly World they enjoyed their outing and seeing a range of animals.
